This year we had the pleasure to welcome communities from Austria (Mozartgemeinde Wien), Canada, Germany (Mozart Gesellschaft Dortmund e.V. and Mozart-Gesellschaft Stuttgart e.V.t), Greece (Mozarteum Hellas), Holland (Mozart(k)ring Gelre-Niederrhein) and Japan (Japan Mozart Society).
Mr. Thomas Bodmer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Marina Corlianò Nahi, representative of the Mozarteum Foundation for the Mozart communities, warmly welcomed all participants.
Mr. Ulrich Leisinger, Director of Research, held an interesting keynote speech on the newly published Köchel catalogue, the complete catalogue of all Mozart’s works. We had the honour to hold and leaf through a precious copy, but anyone can get some insights on the digital version: https://kv.mozarteum.at/en
Musical performance was the focus of this year’s meeting and we thank for it Mozarteum Hellas, represented by Yannis Iatrou at the violin, Evgenia Votanopoulou at the piano, Nina Patrikidou at the violin and the Mozartgemeinde Wien represented by the singing of Wolfgang Gerold. Their combined exhibition, as well as their joint concerts in the past year, are the proof of how successful cooperations can originate between Mozart communities.
After the performance, Mr. Wolfgang Gerold surprised the audience with the Mozartgemeinde Wien’s Golden Medal award to the representants of Mozarteum Hellas namely Evgenia Votanopoulou (President), Nina Patrikidou (Vice President) and Dr Kostas Iatrou (Secretary General).
Inspired by the beautiful performances and the friendly atmosphere, new connections and new collaboration ideas have emerged in front of coffee and pastries, where Rolando Villazón surprised the audience with his quick but lively visit.
